    4. How can I get a membership receipt?

    Membership records/receipts are maintained through PMI national, and there are 2 ways for you to receive this receipt::

    • Log on to pmi.org and click on orders. You will see your membership record there and can email or print a receipt from there.
    • Contact PMI customer service and they can send one to you.

    Q. What is the Metropolitan St. Louis PMI Chapter?

    A. Metropolitan St. Louis PMI Chapter is the St. Louis Chapter of Project Management Institute. We are located in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA

    Q. How long has the Metropolitan St. Louis PMI Chapter been in existence?

    A. The Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter was chartered as a chapter of PMI in 1994

    Q. What are the demographics of the Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter membership?

    A. The Chapter has about 1,400 members, most of whom live and/or work in or around St. Louis, MO. The majority of our members are employed in the following industry areas: Information Technology; Telecommunications; Business Management Services; Construction; Federal and State Operated Agencies; and Financial Services.

    Q. Do I have to be a Metropolitan St. Louis PMI chapter member to attend a meeting?

    A. No. However, joining the chapter for an annual fee of $30 will pay for itself after you attend few monthly meetings. All other chapter activities are offered at a discounted rate to chapter members in good standing.     Q. Is there a fee for attending a monthly dinner meeting as a non-member?

    A. Yes. The fee is currently $30 for attending each monthly dinner meeting as a non-member. Our chapter members pay $25 for these meetings. Registration can be made on the Chapter's web site under "Current Events" via Credit Card. On-site registration payment currently is ONLY accepted via CASH OR CHECK. Credit cards are NOT accepted during on-site registration.

    Q. Who do I send my request for a monthly meeting attendance refund to?

    A. Refund requests with the correct supporting documentation should be forwarded to the VP of Membership. The VP of Membership's decision regarding the request for a refund is final.

    Q. When are Monthly Chapter Meetings held?

    A. Monthly chapter meetings are generally held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Please check the chapter's web site to confirm the date for the monthly meeting.

    Q. How many monthly meetings are held each year?

    A. Ten (10).

    Q. When are Monthly Chapter meetings NOT held?

    A. Monthly chapter meetings are NOT held during the month of July and August.

    Q. Do I have to pre-register for each monthly chapter meeting in order to attend the meeting?

    A. Yes, we prefer our attendees to pre-register for meeting planning purposes and dinner. However, you can you can register on-site.

    Q. Why do I have to sign-in at each monthly chapter meeting?

    A. Currently, the ONLY way that meeting attendance may be verified via PMI National is by a valid signature on a registration list.

    Q. How do I join Metropolitan St. Louis PMI Chapter?

    A. Go to the PMI National website and select to add, "Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter" as your local chapter in your member section or follow direct link as below: -

    Q. Do I have to join PMI National in order to be a Metropolitan St. Louis PMI Chapter member?

    A. Yes. Currently, you must be a member of both entities. To join visit the PMI Membership page (on the PMI National website) and follow the links for the appropriate type of membership (Individual, Student or Retiree). Once you have added the Membership to your cart, select the "Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter" by browsing the communities through the link at the bottom of the PMI Marketplace screen.

    Q. How long does it take after I join through PMI National that I am recognized as a chapter member of Metropolitan St. Louis PMI?

    A. Currently, it will take Metropolitan St. Louis PMI from 1-2 working days to receive your registration information from PMI National.

    Q. How long is my chapter membership good for?

    A. Membership is good for one (1) year. Members are responsible for maintaining their registration status via PMI national. Chapter membership (for $30) can be renewed at the same time when you renew your annual membership at PMI National website.

    Q. What if I just joined Metropolitan St. Louis PMI chapter and want to receive the "Member discount" for a chapter sponsored event sooner than the 4-6 week waiting period?

    A. Paper documentation such as email confirmation of new or renewed membership from PMI national may be brought to the on-site monthly chapter registration.

    Q. I am transferring from another PMI chapter to Metropolitan St. Louis PMI, how do I complete the transfer?

    A. Please contact PMI National at customercare@pmi.org to complete the transfer.

    Q. Can I be the member of more than 1 PMI chapter?

    A. Yes, you can be affiliated with more than 1 PMI chapter.

    Q. What is my default password and User ID when logging on to Metropolitan St. Louis PMI Chapter's website for the first time?

    A. Your default password is eggplant when you log on to http://pmimsl.org/ for the first time.  Once you log in, you will have the option to change your password.

    The User ID is your PMI National Membership ID. 


    Professional Development Units (PDUs)

    Q. I attended a past monthly chapter meeting and forgot to report my PDU information to PMI national. Where can I get past meeting information?

    A. Please look under the "Membership" tab on the web site for PDU reporting information.

    Q. How many PDU's may I claim for a monthly meeting?

    A. Currently, 1 - 2 PDU's for each monthly meeting attended. Please visit "Events" section for correct PDU information.

    Q. What is the Chapter code for reporting PDU's at PMI National's web site?

    A. The chapter code for Metropolitan St. Louis PMI is: C071 (It's zero after C).

    Q. How do I Report PDUs?

    Q. I would like to volunteer and help out the chapter. Whom do I contact? Do I need any training or special experience?

    A. No, no experience is required to help the chapter. Volunteers are always needed and we really appreciate their time and willingness to help. For current volunteer opportunities, please contact the Director of Volunteer.
