Session Objectives

1. Develop skills and strategies for effectively handling conflict;

2. Influence constructively during difficult situations;

3. Gain appropriate approaches for increased interpersonal effectiveness.

Session Description

We’re all faced with difficult situations in the workplace. And as much as we’d like to avoid it, conflict is inevitable. Believe it or not, conflict can be essential to building better relationships, creating stronger team results, and even increasing trust. The REAL question is, how can you turn conflict to your advantage rather than feeling as if you’re at a disadvantage?

There's no single right-way to approach conflict, the key is knowing the right approach for the situation.  There are five key ways to approach any conflict.  This session will identify each of these five approaches to conflict, and will help you understand which style you are most comfortable with while, and learning the techniques for using alternative styles when necessary.

This highly-engaging, results-driven hour also includes video case studies so you get a chance to see how different approaches yield different results.

Participants will also receive a conflict self-assessment so you will learn more about your own style when approaching conflict and the best ways to assess and address conflict successfully. You’ll leave with tangible steps to help you deal effectively with the conflict you encounter at work and on teams.
