Pre-Meeting:  Recruiting – Panel Discussion on increasing effectiveness of job placement

Presenter:  Panelists

Primary Contact:  Craig Miller

Main Event Topic: The Differences Between Managing and Leading Teams - The Psychology of Effective Leadership

Project Managers are judged on the triple constraint of time, cost, effectiveness and scope of the project. This aggregation of responsibilities for a variety of projects and operations means the program manager must make frequent trade-offs between business targets and project/operational performance.  The skills needed by program mangers seem almost endless; effective communication, leadership, solid decision making, technical expertise, inspiration of a shared vision, team building, pressure management, negotiation skills, empathy, and competence.

This presentation will focus on the enhancing leadership skills necessary to be an effective, inspiring project manager.

  • Gain an better understanding of reactive management responses that demotivate team members and distract from goal accomplishment
  • Understand the difference between managing and leading teams
  • Identify situations that will empower, strengthen and creatively influence team members
  • Implement strategies to that foster meaning
  • Creating a safe environment for inspiring creative risk, ingenuity and productivity.
