Project Popcorn: The Open‑Mic Night for Project Managers

Event Overview

No slides. No scripts. No podiums. This is PMIMSL’s first-ever Popcorn Meeting—a fast-paced, unscripted, after-hours social where the audience drives the agenda.

We’re turning the mic over to you. Throughout the evening, a soft, popcorn-stuffed toy will circulate around the room. Whoever holds it has 3 minutes to share:

• A project war story

• A lessons-learned moment

• A brilliant hack or tool

• A “you won’t believe this happened” PM experience

When time’s up, you “popcorn tag” someone else and pass it on.

Expect a lively, casual atmosphere filled with food, beverages, networking, and crowdsourced PM wisdom. Whether you’re stepping up to speak or simply soaking in the insights, this is one of the most interactive events we’ve ever hosted.

 

What You’ll Learn

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Formulate solutions to common project roadblocks through diverse conversations and peer discussions.

• Deconstruct complex experiences into concise 3‑minute micro‑stories that improve team alignment.

• Evaluate peer‑recommended tools and soft‑skill techniques to enhance daily PM performance.

• Facilitate high‑engagement discussions using the “Popcorn” unscripted meeting framework within their own teams.
