August Events Overview
This month, we are thrilled to host a series of events which promise to be both informative and inspiring. Our aim is to provide you with opportunities to learn, network, and celebrate the achievements within our community.
Breakfast Meeting
We kick off the month with our much-anticipated Breakfast Meeting, scheduled for August 12th, at Maritz Corporation. This gathering is an excellent opportunity for members to connect in a relaxed setting while enjoying a hearty breakfast. Our guest speaker, Drew Rapplean, an esteemed Product Manager, will share insights on "Requirements - The art of extracting them the first time!". We will also host our Chapter’s PMI Chapter Engagement Partner, Melissa Bennett! This is a perfect chance to engage in meaningful discussions with fellow members and PMI Staff.
Chapter Dinner
On August 27th, we will host our Chapter Dinner, a highlight of our monthly calendar. This event will feature two distinguished speakers, Tanya Roberts, MBA, PfMP and Kristin Kinscherff, PMP; who will help us: “Overcoming Prioritization’s Toughest Challenge: Human Nature”. Their expertise and experience will undoubtedly provide you with new perspectives and ideas to implement in your projects. The dinner also serves as a wonderful occasion to network with peers and build lasting professional relationships.
Scholarship Winners
We are proud to announce the winners of this year's PMIMSL Chapter Scholarships. These three individuals have demonstrated exceptional dedication and potential in the field of project management. Their achievements are a testament to the talent and commitment present within our community. We will be honoring them at the Chapter Dinner, where they will have the opportunity to share their experiences and aspirations with us.
Election Candidates Introduction
As we look forward to the future, it is time to introduce the candidates for our upcoming chapter elections. These individuals have shown a strong commitment to our chapter's mission and are eager to contribute their skills and vision. During the Chapter Dinner, each candidate will present their platform and goals, allowing you to make informed decisions when casting your votes. Your participation in this process is crucial to shaping the leadership and direction of our chapter.
In summary, August is set to be a month filled with opportunities for learning, networking, and celebrating the achievements of our members. I encourage each of you to participate in these events, as they are designed to enhance your professional journey and strengthen our community. Your involvement is what makes our chapter vibrant and successful.
And we don’t stop there! Look for our Speed Mentoring and Project Management for Purpose: A Day of Nonprofit Empowerment coming in September!
Thank you for your continued support and dedication. I look forward to seeing you at our events and working together to advance our shared goals.
Warm regards,
Theresa Luebcke

April has arrived – blowing in with the usual rain!
The chapter hosted a successful Annual Meeting in March. A big thank you to Maritz Corporation for accommodating us. We reviewed our accomplishments for 2024, and we looked at 2025, including introducing you to our fabulous Board! Part of the meeting was devoted to hearing from you, the members, to see what you feel we should focus on for the coming year. Even if you were unable to attend this meeting, your board is always interested in your ideas. Just send us an email, find us on the ‘Board of Directors’ page under ‘About’!

IMPORTANT CHAPTER BUSINESS!
We have updated our chapter bylaws to the latest PMI template. While there are not many changes, the chapter members must review the proposed bylaws before we can vote on them. Please check out the DRAFT Updated Bylaws and let us know if you have any questions. We hope to vote on the bylaws at the same time we elect our new officers for 2026-2027.
March President's Message
04 March 2025 at 09:00PM
PMI Metropolitan St. Louis members:
March already – and spring is just around the corner! Which is good, as the weather won in February, forcing us to reschedule the Annual Membership Meeting.
This was a tough decision, but the safety of our members is our top priority! The good news is, we plan to go ahead with the meeting in March! Same time: March 19th at 6:00 PM; same place: Maritz Corporation – thanks to Maritz for accommodating us! If you registered for February, you are all set for March – you need do nothing!
AND you can still sign up for the Annual Membership Meeting on March 19! This is the time we recap for our members all we did in 2024 and our plans for 2025. This is your opportunity to meet your 2025 Board and tell them what you would like to see happen with the Chapter. We will take your ideas and see how (and if) we can work them into the plans for 2025 and beyond. You will also have the opportunity to talk to us about volunteering for the chapter, because…

We discussed what we wanted to accomplish and what we felt was realistic to tackle. We know our members are asking for more in-person events. This is a priority! We have had inquiries about certification training. We will be talking more about this in the near future! We took quality time to meet as teams in our various areas, to get to know each other a bit better. To find out how each member can help every other member of the team to offer the best value to you, our members! We know we exist to serve you – but we also know we need YOUR help to be successful!
January 2025 President's Message
01 January 2025 at 08:00PM
As I came off the PMIMSL Board at the end of 2013, I began as the Region 6 Mentor, working with the Boards in 26 Chapters in our Region of 8 states. This was challenging and exciting, and I learned more about PMI on a global level. When that role was over, I served on the Chapter Insight Team (CIT) – another global role, this time acting as the ‘voice of the chapter’ to PMI. Even though this role began about the same time as Covid, which limited my in-person interactions; I enjoyed supporting the Chapters and various Chapter initiatives within PMI. I also worked on other PMI projects: creating coursework for Chapter Leaders, managing conflict within chapters and working on the chapter conflict process, and possibly my favorite: judging various awards program candidates! All of this gave me a better understanding of what PMI is all about and the opportunities open to our members.
